Vautrain Eagle Project

My eagle project is on Saturday August 27th. Due to lack of people signing up for the 8 A.M. to 12 P.M. work shift this work shift has been moved to 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. and donuts will still be provided. Lunch (which is pizza and drinks) will be at 12:30 P.M. so if you plan on eating lunch then please be there at that time. The project will be at my house which is 3946 E. Wisteria Cir. Boys that are helping are asked to bring: work clothes, a water bottle, a phillips screwdriver and please wear closed toed shoes. Boys with questions or that would like to sign up are asked to call Scott Vautrain at 281-265-2404.
Thank you,
Scott Vautrain.

Webmaster note:
It's unfortunate that the lock-in this Friday was delayed for a week and is impacting the turnout for Scott's project. If you're not attending the lock-in, then please give Scott a call and let that good Scout Spirit lead you to his house Saturday morning.

Party time at 6PM Monday

Just a reminder that the Troop meeting/party Monday evening will begin at 6PM and end when it gets too dark to see what we're doing. We've had 35 positive responses so far, but remember that ALL troop families are invited, so please come and join in the fun. We'll have plenty of food. (Lemonade, hot dogs, sloppy joes, watermelon, cookies and veggie snacks are on the menu.)
By the way, if you're planning on bringing anything larger than a canoe to put in the water, it would probably be a good idea to launch it from the parking lot across the lake (next to the pool). We have a narrow gate.
Once again, if you plan to go onto the water please remember to bring life jackets. We have a few, but not enough for everyone. Swim shoes are also highly recommended.
A map is at http://www.texcetera.com/raymond/map/ .
See you tomorrow!

Aug. 8 meeting

Next Monday evening (August 8) is our annual end-of-summer troop meeting. We will be meeting again at the Raymond home on Grant's Lake in First Colony. (See map below, or click on this link.) Food and drink will be provided, but the boys and anyone else going on the water should bring life jackets, water guns, and anything that floats. (If you want to see how much the boys enjoy this party, pictures from 2003 and 2004 are on the website.)

Please note that Grant's Lake is posted as a "no swimming" area. Based on past experience, however, we would not be surprised if a few boys "accidentally" fall into the lake, so everyone planning to venture onto the water is strongly advised to wear water-shoes...just in case. Also, NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE WATER WITHOUT A LIFE JACKET!!!

All troop families are invited. Just so we'll have an idea how much food is needed, please respond to this email (to cliff@t1631.org) or call 281-980-6876 with how many in your family will be attending. Thanks for your help, and we look forward to seeing everyone next Monday!

Cliff, Lois and Chancey Raymond
