Scott Vautrain appeared before a Troop 1631 Board of Review on September 29, 2006.   Scott’s qualifications were examined and after a detailed interview the Board determined that Scott did indeed have Scout Spirit and advanced Scott to the rank of Eagle Scout. Scott is the 103d Eagle Scout in Troop 1631! Congratulations Scott and welcome to the Eagle’s Nest!

 

The Tomahawk District zoning commission has notified the Troop that the Eagle’s Nest is overcrowded and that we must take measures to alleviate the situation. Plans are in place for construction of the Nest for the 2^nd hundred Eagles to begin in January of 2007.

Troop 1631 popcorn sale

The order forms were handed out to some parents and Scouts on Sept 18th and Sep 25th. If your son has not received the form as yet but you would like him to earn 35% of the order value which could be utilized towards future camp outs etc. Please call Poonam Bhateja at 281 313 1423 to pick up your order form. The other troops actually keep 30% & scouts get 5% only. Out troop is very generous & let scouts keep all 35%. The money gets added to your scout's account.

Troop 1631 popcorn sale

The Sam Houston Area Council Popcorn Sale is an important part of your son's scouting experience. It provides necessary funding for all the group programs they get from the Sam Houston Area Council and from unit 1631. To make this year's sale a success, we need your support.

* Help your son set his goals and encourage him to reach the sales level and prizes he has chosen.
* Make sure that he gets the opportunity to sell to friends, neighbors and relatives.
* Remind him that the biggest reason people don't buy is because they are not asked.
* Help his sale by taking an Order Form to work with you.

IMPORTANT Popcorn Sale Dates:

Sept 11 - District Kick-off & Scouts Begin Selling

Oct 16 and Oct 23 - Turn in your order forms

Oct 27 - Order will be placed

Nov 11 - Units pick up popcorn

I will hand out order forms at the Sept 18 Troop meeting. In case you would like to start before that, please call Poonam Bhateja at 281 313 1423 to pick up your order form & the flyer about the prizes.

All units with 100% of active youth selling popcorn will receive Blue Bell ice cream for a party after the sale. I am sure no one would like to miss that. So, let's DO it.  Money is not due to the council until Dec 1 but a lot of people collect money when they take orders. You can pick up cash or check payable to Troop 1631 so we can send one single check for the entire order.
