Troop 1631 Webmaster

As you’ve probably heard, Phiet Pham is assuming the duties of Troop 1631 Webmaster.  Starting this week Phiet will be the “go to” person for troop emails.  If you have a message that needs to be forwarded to the entire troop, or anything to be posted at the website, please send it to ptpham@us.ibm.com.

It has been an honor to serve the troop as Webmaster for the past 5 years.  Phiet will bring in some fresh ideas and I’m certain he will do a fine job.

I will be starting my Eagle project this upcoming Thanksgiving week and I am looking for some scout and adult help.  I will be building two sets of bookcases for the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry to use to display items sold in their resale shop.  I will need about 3-5 scouts and one to two adults for Wed and Sat (or Sunday depending on when people are available).  We will work for about 3-4 hours each day starting around 10:00 am. Lunch will be provided to those who help.  If you are interested in helping please email me, thejake1989@gmail.com, or call 281-499-8206. Bring work gloves and safety goggles if you have them.

Thanks
Jake Haney

Eagle project - Chancey Raymond

Hi, this is Chancey Raymond and I'm doing the second part of my eagle project this Saturday (the 18th) at Lost Creek Park from 8 AM to approximately 4 PM (we may get done sooner).  A map is available at http://www.cervantage.com/files/map-LostCreekPark.jpg, and we could really use all the help we can get, which will also count for service hours for those who attend.  On Saturday we will be painting the picnic tables and benches around the park.  We will provide donuts at 8 AM and pizza at noon, so if you aren't planning on staying the whole time (which is fine) you might plan around those two times.

Thank you,
Chancey Raymond

Calling all Eagles!

An effort is underway to contact as many Eagle Scouts as possible that live in Fort Bend County, which includes the Brazos District and the Tomahawk District.  If you know of any adult Eagles (over 18 years old) living in Fort Bend County, please have them drop an email to  EaglescoutsFB@aol.com including the date they earned Eagle, their council (or city and state) and troop number at that time, and their current contact info (address, phones, and email).
We are trying to get this done as quickly as possible for a special project, so please get the word out soon.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me at the address below.

         Thanks for all you do,

         Richard (Rick) Conley

We will have Webelos Scouts visiting the troop meeting Monday, so please plan to attend and help out. We will be doing a small orienteering course, games and knots so bring compasses and flashlights (it will be dark outside). We will also be doing sign-up for the Colorado River canoe trip/campout on December 1. Please bring $25 deposit so we can reserve the canoes.
